**Instant Classic presented by Guinness** **Glasgow Warriors enjoyed a season to remember back in 2018/19 as the Scottish outfit reached the Guinness PRO14 Final at Celtic Park before falling at the last hurdle to Leinster.** Even though the campaign did not get the fairytale finish Warriors would have dreamed off in front of almost 50,000 fans in Glasgow, nothing could take away from their efforts over the season. And a sign of what was to come arrived in the opening game as Dave Rennie’s men held their nerve to defeat Connacht 27-26 in a back-and-forth thriller at the Sportsground. Indiscipline from both sides in the early stages saw points flow throughout the first half after Warriors took the lead inside two minutes with a well-worked score. Stuart Hogg showed his vision to place a precise kick into the Connacht 22 and his club and country teammate Tommy Seymour won the race to reach the ball and dot down. Pete Horne missed the subsequent conversion and the hosts hit back almost immediately, with Jack Carty making it 5-3 from the tee as the breathless tempo was established. Connacht took to the front for the first time when Carty’s cross-kick to Cian Kelleher put the winger in for a try but it was not long before Warriors wrestled the lead back.
