George Taylor of Edinburgh Rugby has been banned for a period of three games following a Disciplinary Process, which took place after he received a Red Card during the Guinness PRO14 Zebre Rugby club v Edinburgh Rugby fixture in Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, Parma. Taylor was shown a Red Card by referee Gianluca Gnecchi (FIR) under Law 9.13 – A Player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders. The Disciplinary Process was presided over by Rhian Williams (WRU) who concluded that the act of foul play warranted a red card with a mid-range entry point of six weeks, reduced to three for mitigating factors including admission that actions warranted a red card, remorse shown during the proceedings and previous clean disciplinary record.
